Equipment used: Celestron 15x70 on Velbon DV-7000, Nikon 8800 handheld @ f = 225mm. The moon is obviously smaller, but sharper when viewed directly, filling about 11% of the field of view's diameter (0.5° vs 4.4°). There is no yellow tint and the chromatic aberration is not that enormous.
